Cabin baggage

What is the cabin baggage allowance?
Each passenger may carry up to 10 kg total cabin baggage, including:

  • 1 cabin bag: max 55 × 40 × 20 cm
  • 1 personal item (e.g., laptop bag/handbag): max 25 × 33 × 20 cm
  • Duty-free purchases, as long as the combined total remains within 10 kg

What happens if my cabin baggage exceeds the allowed weight or size?
If your cabin baggage exceeds the limit, you may be required to:

  • Check it in at the counter (fees may apply), or
  • Repack/remove items to meet the allowance
  • If your bag still exceeds the limit at the boarding gate, a fee of AED 100 per piece may apply.

Is there any extra allowance for passengers traveling with infants?
Yes. If you’re travelling with an infant under 2 years, you may carry one additional small bag up to 3 kg for baby essentials. This item must fit under the seat and may need to be declared at check-in.

Are there any items I cannot carry in my cabin baggage?
Yes. Certain items are prohibited in cabin baggage. Please review the Dangerous Goods & restricted items list before you travel: [link to Dangerous Goods page].

Are there any restrictions on personal items in cabin baggage?
Yes. You may bring one personal item (e.g., handbag, laptop bag, small backpack) as long as it:

  • Does not exceed 25 × 33 × 20 cm
  • Is within the total 10 kg allowance (combined with your cabin bag)
  • May need to be declared and tagged at check-in
  • Also note: sharp objects, flammable materials, and liquids over 100 ml are not permitted in cabin baggage.
